Patrick Colbeck is a Republican Candidate for the Governor of Michigan. With over two decades of private sector experience and two terms in the Michigan Senate, Patrick Colbeck distinguishes himself from career politicians and newcomers yet to navigate the troubled waters of Lansing.

He has a track record of taking on big challenges and succeeding. He applied his degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan to design systems as an engineer with Boeing that enable human beings to live in space. He challenged our youth to dream big as an instructor at Space Camp. He knows what it’s like for small business owners to take a leap of faith and setup shop. After 6 years of running his own small business, he sought to fix our state by running for the Michigan Senate.

In his successful Senate bid, he became the first person elected directly into the MI Senate in over three decades without any political experience…and he defeated four former state representatives in the process. In the crucible of public service, he has remained true to the principles which he promised voters to uphold. He has been recognized as the Most Conservative Senator the past 2 years in a row and 3 times in his 7 years of service. He led the Senate effort to turn around Michigan’s economy by restoring the Freedom of Assembly to rank and file workers and making Michigan the 24th Right to Work state in the nation.

In recognition of his leadership role, he received the Senator Paul Fannin Statesman of the Year Award. His free market health care solutions that lower costs and improve services are nationally recognized and featured by Forbes. He has also been honored as the Legislator of the Year by the Police Officers Association of Michigan, The Senior Alliance, and Associated Builders and Contractors. His service goes well beyond legislative duties. In 2011, he co-founded the Michigan Freedom Center whose mission is “Serving those who serve us” in the military. His integrity and principled service have been recognized by both his supporters and his detractors.
